I am obsessed with this Brown Glazed Ham. It’s super easy to throw together and guarantees juicy ham clothed in a sweet and salty, caramelized interior. The perfect holiday meal or to serve to a big crowd!

INGREDIENTS

½ c. orange juice

1 large fully cooked ham (bone-in, spiral-sliced is fine), about 15 lbs

2 tbsp honey

½ tsp cinnamon

1 c. packed brown sugar

2 tbsp white vinegar

2 tbsp yellow mustard

½ tsp onion powder

½ tsp garlic powder

How to make Brown Sugar Glazed Ham

Step 1: Allow the ham to rest for at least 2 hours at room temperature for even cooking.

Step 2: When ready to cook, preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.

Step 3: Combine the brown sugar, orange juice, honey, white vinegar, yellow mustard, onion powder, garlic powder, and cinnamon in a small saucepan. Cook on medium heat until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture begins to simmer. Let the mixture simmer for about a minute or two or until slightly thickened. When done, take the pan off the heat.

Step 4: Overlap two large pieces of foil. In the middle of the foil, place the ham and brush with 1/3 glaze. Tightly cover with foil. In the baking pan, place the ham flat-side down. I use a 9 x 13-inch pan.

Step 5: Put the pan in the preheated oven and bake until the middle of the ham reached 100 to 110 degrees F. Bake for about 15 minutes per pound. When done, take the ham off the oven and crank up the oven temperature to 400 degrees F.

Step 6: Cautiously unwrap the ham. Brush the ham again with another 1/3 of the glaze. Place the ham back in the oven and resume baking for 15 to 20 minutes more or until the glaze begins to caramelized and turned dark and sticky but not burnt.

Step 7: Over the ham, brush on the rest of the glaze. Cover it with foil and allow the ham to rest for about 10 minutes before carving. Serve immediately. Enjoy!

NOTES:

Feel free to use uncooked ham and just make sure the meat is cooked at proper internal temperature.
