This cookie recipe has always been a part of my family since I was a little kid. I remember my Grandma used to make these heavenly treats all the time! I am so grateful to her for teaching me the recipe because now, I get to share it with you, friends! Feel free to add more ingredients if you prefer. I am sure that you can do a lot with this very basic recipe. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
8 ounces/225 g semisweet chocolate, roughly chopped
4 tbsp (1/2 stick/57 g) unsalted butter
2/3 c (90 g/3.2 ounces) all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 large Eggs
3/4 c (150 g/5.3 ounces) packed light brown sugar
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
Directions:
Step 1: Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
Step 2: In a microwavable bowl, add the chocolate and butter. Place the bowl inside the microwave and heat until melted completely.
Step 3: In another mixing bowl, add the baking powder, flour, and salt. Whisk until well mixed.
Step 4: In the bowl of a stand mixer, add the brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Beat until well mixed.
Step 5: Add the melted chocolate and beat until well blended.
Step 6: Add the flour mixture and beat until well mixed.
Step 7: Spoon the dough and drop them onto the lined baking sheets. Make sure to leave a 2-inch space between each cookie dough.
Step 8: Place the baking sheets inside the preheated oven and bake for 10 minutes or until done.
Step 9: Remove from the oven and allow the cookies to cool at room temperature.
Step 10: Serve and enjoy!
Note:
Place any leftovers in an airtight container. They can last up to 3 days at room temperature.
