Ingredients:
BREAD PUDDING
2 cups whole milk
1/4 cup butter, softened
1/3 cup sugar
3 Eggs
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
3 cups of bread, torn into pieces (any bread, although french bread or raisin bread is great)
1/4 cup raisins
SAUCE
1 cup whole milk
2 tablespoons butter, softened
1/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 tablespoon flour
dash(es) salt
Directions:
Place a saucepan on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Add the milk and butter. Heat until well blended. Make sure to stir frequently.
Remove the pan from the heat.
In a mixing bowl, add eggs, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon. Stir until well mixed.
Add the milk mixture and stir until well blended.
Add the bread pieces into a casserole dish.
Pour the batter over the bread pieces and spread it evenly. Sprinkle raisins on top.
Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
Place the casserole dish inside the preheated oven and bake for about 50 minutes or until done.
For the Sauce:
Place a saucepan on the stove and add all the ingredients. Stir until well mixed.
Turn the heat to medium and allow the mixture to boil.
Remove from the heat and allow it to cool completely at room temperature.
Pour the sauce over the warm bread pudding.
Let it rest for a few minutes. Serve and enjoy!
