Meatloaf is a staple at home. I make sure to never miss a week without serving our favourite Turkey Meatloaf. Although there has been a lot of meatloaf recipes crawling the internet, I picked this simple, pretty straightforward Turkey Meatloaf recipe for many reasons. This meatloaf tastes crazy wonderful. And don’t forget to set aside a little sauce for serving!
Ingredients
1 cup ketchup
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 cup onion, diced
1 teaspoon garlic, minced
3/4 cup carrot, grated
Pepper, to taste
Kosher salt, to taste
2 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup parsley, chopped
1 cup bread crumbs
1/3 cup milk
1 egg
1 egg white
1 pound ground turkey
How to make Turkey Meatloaf
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 400 degrees.
Step 2: Place the ketchup, brown sugar, and a teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce in a small bowl. Mix well and set aside.
Step 3: In a small skillet, heat the olive oil. Once the oil is hot, add the onion, garlic, and carrot to the skillet and saute until the onion and carrot are tender. Season with pepper, salt, and add in the rest of the half tsp Worcestershire sauce. Stir well. Into a large bowl, transfer the mixture when done.
Step 4: Into the bowl, add the breadcrumbs, milk, and parsley. Then, add in the eggs, turkey, and 2 tbsp ketchup mixture. Using your hands, mix the ingredients until well combined. To a loaf pan, transfer the mixture. Pat the top to smooth it out into a rounded loaf.
Step 5: Over the turkey mixture, pour the rest of the ketchup mixture, spreading it evenly. If desired, keep a little sauce for later.
Step 6: Place the meatloaf inside the preheated oven and bake for about 50 to 55 minutes. Remove from the oven when done and slice.
Step 7: Serve and enjoy!
