We enjoy many types of pies and desserts, but we love to hear about other people’s favourite pie. Although it isn’t a question, asking about pie could spark a heated argument where families and friends fight over their favorite cream-based or fruit-infused baked goods. You will always find someone who loves pecan pie the most. No matter the occasion or season, everyone will pick this delicious, creamy dessert. It is true…
Servings: 6-8 | 45 minutes
Ingredients:
6 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
1 1/2 cups self-rising flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/3 cup whole milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups brown sugar packed
1 1/2 cups of hot water
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350o F
Put 6 tablespoons butter into a 9×13-inch baking pan. Bake the dish in the oven until butter melts
Spread the pecans on top of the melted butter and set them aside.
Mix flour, granulated sugar, and milk together in a large bowl until the mixture is well combined.
Spread the batter on top of the pecans. Once the batter is poured into a baking dish, don’t stir pecans into the batter.
Sprinkle brown sugar evenly on top of the cake, without mixing. Then carefully pour hot water over top.
Bake the baking dish for 30 to 35 minutes or until it is golden brown.
Take out of the oven and allow to cool for at most 15 minutes before you serve.
