1 teaspoon olive oil

2 pounds pork butt or boneless ribs

3 tablespoons brown sugar

2 tablespoons fish sauce

1/2 onion

1 tablespoon soy sauce

cooked white rice

green onions for garnish

1-2 c. water UPDATE: begin with 1 c. and then add more if needed

How to make Sweet caramelized pork with rice

Step 1: Start by chopping the onion. Into small pieces, slice the pork.

Step 2: In a large, wide skillet, heat the oil. Once the oil is hot, add the onions and pork to the skillet and cook for about 5 minutes or until the meat is well browned.

Step 3: Pour in the water and add the soy sauce, sugar, and fish sauce. Bring everything to a light boil. Let the mixture simmer for about 30 minutes to 1 hour or until almost all the water has thickened and turned into a brown caramel-like sauce.

Step 4: Stir well. Over rice, serve the caramel pork garnished with some green onions. Enjoy!
