INGREDIENTS

4 slices mozzarella cheese

4 chicken breasts

1 c. sour cream

1 tbsp cornstarch

1 tsp dried basil

1 tsp dried oregano

1/2 tsp garlic powder

3/4 c. Parmesan cheese, freshly grated and divided

Parsley, chopped, for garnish

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper

How to make Smothered Sour Cream Chicken

Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 375 degrees F. Using a nonstick spray, grease a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.

Step 2: Place the sour cream, half cup of the Parmesan, salt, pepper, oregano, basil, garlic powder, and cornstarch in a small bowl. Mix well until blended.

Step 3: In the prepared baking dish, arrange the chicken breasts and top the slices with a piece of mozzarella each, then coat with the sour cream mixture.

Step 4: On top, sprinkle the rest of the Parmesan.

Step 5: Place in the preheated oven and bake for about an hour or until the chicken is completely cooked and the sauce is bubbly.
