Ingredients:

2 ¼ c all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp salt

1 c butter, at room temperature

¾ c white sugar

¾ c firmly packed brown sugar

4 large Eggs

1 tsp vanilla

2 c milk chocolate chips (such as Guittard®)

1 c chopped pecans (optional)

Directions:

Step 1: Prepare the oven and preheat to 190 degrees C or 375 degrees F.

Step 2: Apply cooking spray in a 9×13-inch baking pan.

Step 3: In a mixing bowl, add the flour, salt, and baking soda. Stir until well mixed.

Step 4: In a mixing bowl, add the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar. Beat until well mixed.

Step 5: Add the eggs gradually and beat every addition.

Step 6: Add the vanilla and beat until well blended.

Step 7: Transfer the flour mixture into the butter mixture, then stir until well mixed.

Step 8: Add the nuts and chocolate chips. Stir until well mixed.

Step 9: Transfer the batter into the prepared baking sheet and spread it evenly.

Step 10: Place it inside the preheated oven and bake for 25 minutes or until done.

Step 11: Remove from the oven and allow it to cool at room temperature.

Step 12: Slice the cooled cake into small squares.
