Ingredients:
sweetened whipped cream or whipped topping
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 cups milk chocolate chips (or dark chocolate if you prefer)
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 Egg yolks
3 cups of milk
2/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup cornstarch
1 deep dish pie shell or use a 10″ pie pan
Directions:
Step 1: Refer to the directions provided on the package of the pie shell on how to bake it.
Step 2: Remove from the oven and allow it to cool at room temperature.
Step 3: Add the cornstarch, salt, and sugar in a 2-quart saucepan. Stir until well mixed.
Step 4: Add the milk and egg yolks in a pouring spout container.
Step 5: Add the mixture into the egg mixture. Stir until well mixed.
Step 6: Place the saucepan on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Step 7: Stir and cook for about a minute or until it starts to boil.
Step 8: Remove from the heat, then add the vanilla and butter. Stir until well mixed.
Step 9: Add 1 3/4 cups of chocolate chips and stir until well mixed and melted.
Step 10: Pour the mixture over the pie shell and allow it to cool completely.
Step 11: Place it inside the fridge to chill for a couple of hours.
Step 12: Decorate with the rest of the chocolate chips and whipped cream.
Step 13: Serve and enjoy!
