I learned about this recipe last week while I was browsing the internet for a new and easy recipe. I am so happy that I have found this because it is perfect! Ingredients:
2 package 8 ounces crescent rolls
1 cup butter
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 1/2 cup 7-up (or other lemon soda)
2 granny smith apples (2 apples makes 16 dumplings)
Directions:
Brush a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter.
Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
Remove the core of the peeled apples.
Slice each prepared apple into 8 pieces.
Cover each apple slice with a crescent roll. Repeat the process with the rest.
Arrange them into the prepared baking dish.
Put a pan on the stove and turn the heat to medium. Add butter and allow it to melt.
Add sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla into the melted butter and stir until well blended. Allow it to simmer until thick.
Pour the butter mixture on top of the dumplings and spread it evenly.
Pour soda in the centre and sides of the baking dish.
Place it inside the preheated oven and bake the dumplings for about 45 minutes or until done.
Remove from the oven and allow the dumplings to cool for a few minutes at room temperature.
Serve warm and enjoy!
