Ingredients:

2 cups flour

2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

2/3 cup butter – softened

1/2 cup milk

SAUCE

2 cups brown sugar

2 cups water

1/4 cup butter

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

6 granny smith apples- cored and peeled

Extra cinnamon & sugar mixed inside the apples

Directions:

Prepare the oven and 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.

Peel the apples, then remove the cores.

Add flour, salt, and baking powder into a food processor. Pulse until just mixed.

Add milk and butter, then pulse a few more times until they form a soft dough.

Empty the dough onto a flat surface sprinkled with flour, then slice it into 6 cuts.

Roll each dough into a ball.

In a mixing bowl, add cinnamon and sugar. Stir until well mixed.

Stuff each dough with the prepared apple. Put it in the middle.

Sprinkle a bit of the sugar-cinnamon mixture.

Use your hands to mould the dough until the apple is completely covered.

Apply cooking spray in a 9×13-inch baking pan.

Arrange them into the prepared pan.

Place a saucepan on the stove and turn the heat to medium.

Add water, butter, cinnamon, and sugar. Whisk until well mixed, then allow it to boil.

Remove the pan from the heat and allow the sauce to cool.

Pour about 3/4 of the sauce all over the dumplings and spread it evenly.

Place them inside the preheated oven and bake for about 55 minutes or until done.

Remove from the oven and spread the rest of the sauce on top.

Note:

These dumplings are best served with ice cream, milk, or whipped cream.
